A long time coming...

Founded by longtime colleagues and child and family therapists, our practice was born from a shared commitment to helping children and families heal, grow, and thrive through accessible care and community connection. After meeting while working in community mental health outside Washington, DC, we  (Arielle and Jessica) spent years providing trauma-informed care, training new clinicians, supervising interns, and supporting children and families through some of life’s most difficult challenges.

Through this work, we witnessed the profound difference that compassionate, evidence-based therapy can make—not only for children, but for entire family systems. We also saw a growing need for high-quality, accessible mental health services for young children and their caregivers.

With The Cedar House, we are bringing our combined experience, an increadible team of clinicians with advanced training, and deep dedication to the community by creating a practice that offers exceptional care for children, parents, and families. Our team specializes in early childhood mental health, trauma-informed treatment, and family-centered support, with a commitment to making services as accessible as possible through insurance-based care and a keen focus on community building.

Beyond therapy, we are passionate about strengthening our community through clinician training, parent education, support groups, and programs that foster connection and resilience. Our vision is to create a welcoming space where children and families feel understood, supported, and empowered to achieve lasting positive change.
